The Lumberjack’s Candle Bridge: Symbol of Rovaniemi

The Lumberjack’s Candle Bridge is one of the several bridges you'll find over the river in Roveniemi. But this bridge is special because of its unique shape. The bridge bears a memory from the times of timber floating and is homage to the lumberjack. On the top of two columns there is a lighting solution resembling the lumberjack’s candle, a log cut in two with a fire in between. It is the first cable-stayed tuft form bridge in Finland which was built in 1989. If you are in the area, then it's worth a photo. Best location is from the park on the riverbank next to the restaurant. The view of the bridge in autumn looks even more magnificent and stands out from its surroundings.
